Students in grades 3-8 across New Rochelle who are curious about science and excited to explore.
Mentorship - Each student is paired with a high school mentor who provides guidance, encouragement, and closely supports the student with their project.
Project Development - Students receive step-by-step help in designing and executing a project in a STEM topic of the students choice.
Skill Building - Mentors will help students develop basic research and public speaking skills in preparation for the NR-USE science fair.
Past Projects - Structural Integrity in Bridges, Liquid Light Show, Comparison of pH and Chemical Composition in Tooth Paste, Creating an Inexpensive Solar Oven
Early exposure to science can build confidence, critical thinking skills, and inquisitive mindsets. NR-USE helps students grow as independent thinkers and pushes them to continue asking questions.
